Rev. Barbara J. Pickett has a strong belief in a Higher Source of Energy in the universe which she believes will aid us by providing the insight, strength and courage we need to face our chosen life tasks and challenges.
Maintaining a connection in this Energy and our faith in the Wisdom of this Higher Power may be one of the biggest challenges that many of us must overcome!
Barbara developed an interest in religion and metaphysics which began her quest for knowledge in both subjects during her teen years. She joined the Rosicrucian Order , a world-wide non-religious group which promotes the study of Philosophy, Physics and Human Physiology. Barbara finds this organization to have a well-established system of studying the ancient and modern truths surrounding our spirituality and existence on this planet. She continues to enjoy her life-long studies with the Rosicrucians.
Barbara continued the knowledge quest by obtaining a Doctorate Degree in Divinity with an emphasis on Spiritual Counseling through the University of Metaphysical Sciences based in Northern California. The University offers courses in the History of World Religions, Development and Evolution of Religious Practices, Psychology of Self and how it relates to Human Growth and Development, Meditation Practices and Current Technology. Barbara received her Ministerial Ordination and Practitioner's Certification through the Wisdom of the Heart Church by completing the Degree Program offered through the University.
Shamanic Journeying is another interest and she studies this through the workshops offered by The Foundation for Shamanic Studies. She has been practicing Shamanic Journeying for several years and feels it to be a beneficial experience and a useful tool for Growth and Development. She believes it allows us to find the inner strength and ability to see and listen to the higher power which surrounds us, increasing our awareness of our spiritual environment.
Barbara has discovered Reiki Healing Energy and finds it to be an effective healing and relaxation modality. She has attained the Master Level in Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki and is learning ways to incorporate her Shamanic work into the Reiki sessions. Barbara has a sincere desire to work towards developing the Energy within herself in an effort to share it with others. She believes that finding the balance between our minds, emotions and our souls will help us to become physically healthier and better able to fulfill our chosen life's goals.
Barbara has completed the Level 1 & Level 2 Bach Flower Essence courses. She finds the philosophies of Dr. Edward Bach to be a good fit with her personal belief system and they seem to coincide synchronistically with her own life and spiritual experiences. She finds the Flower Essences to be useful in promoting a deeper Harmony between the Soul, Emotions and Mind with positive results on one's general Heath and Well-being and Personal Relationships.
